God is the Great Artist, and human creativity an echo of being made in His image. This advent season, we are calling on the creatives of our church family to use their God-given gifts for the glory of Christ and the increase of our joy in Him through the Emmanuel: God & Man  Art Gallery & Open House.

The gallery, which will be displayed through the month of December, will include various forms of art within the broader categories of visual art, language arts/music, and cinematic art.

Submissions for this year’s gallery will be accepted through November 30th and must meet
the requirements outlined below.

General Requirements     

  • Open to all ages
  • All art submissions no matter the category must be made with the goal of pointing people to Christ.  
  • You are encouraged to create your art with one of the elements of our 2025 Advent sermon series theme in mind:
    • Emmanuel: God & Man
      • Prepare Him Room (Leviticus 26:11-12; John 1:14)
      • Fully God  (1 John 4:7-19)
      • Fully Man (Hebrews 2:14-18)
      • All Because of Love (Luke 1:26-2:20)
    • With one of the elements above in mind, the artist is encouraged to make their art either as:
      • An historical depiction based on the Biblical passages listed above
      • A personal testimony of how Jesus as Emmanuel has impacted your life
      • A reflection on how Jesus coming to earth has changed your life
  • Entries must be submitted no later than Sunday November 30th.  
  • All entries will be reviewed to ensure that they meet the criteria listed in this form. 

Types of Art

Visual Arts
Photography, Mixed Media, Illustration, Painting, Drawing

  • All entries are encouraged to be submitted per the following guidelines:
    • Larger pieces may be accepted on a case by case basis.
    • Entries should be no bigger than 24” X 24”.
    • Must be matted, mounted, framed, or on canvas.
    • Must include a title and/or brief description of how the entry ties to one of the elements of the theme “Emmanuel: God & Man”
  • All entries that meet the criteria above will be put on display in the MAC foyer during the month of December 2025.

Language Arts | Music
Poetry, Spoken Word, Musical Composition

  • Poetry submissions  should be presented in print and framed if possible.  If you need help printing or framing your poetry submission please let us know so we can help.
  •  Spoken word, and/or original music should be submitted in the following formats:
    • Spoken Word 
      • Text from your spoken word piece should be e-mailed to the MAC office for review 
      • Accepted spoken word pieces will be invited to share their piece during the Open House December 5th.
    • Original Music Composition  
      • A recording of your composition must be submitted in Mp3 or M4a or WAV formats.
      • Files may be submitted via DropBox, GoogleDrive, or via flash drive in person at the MAC Office.

Note:  Space is limited to 8 slots for spoken word and original music composition which will be presented at the Open House night December 5th, 6-8pm. 

Cinematic Art
Short Films of various categories including but not limited to: fictional/narrative, non-fiction/testimony, conceptual, music video, and animation

  • All entries must be 4 minutes or less in length.
  • All accepted entries will be shown at our open house night on December 5th.   Accepted entries will also be listed on the MAC website during the month of December 2025. 
  • All entries must be submitted no later than Sunday November 30th to the Menomonie Alliance Church office for review before being played at the Open House night December 5th.
