Welcome, We're Glad You're Here!
“The LORD was with him…” A brief, yet powerful sentence to be sure; and one we will be talking about A LOT over the next few weeks.
There are two pronounced themes to be found in the story of Joseph: the sovereignty of God and God’s providential care of His own. Within those themes, the story of Joseph is a story of Jesus, Calvary, and Easter all rolled into one. When we see and understand that, it arouses the same powerful emotions that come when we think about the resurrection of Jesus.
Of the people in Genesis, there is actually more written about Joseph than Abraham. It is nearly twice as much about Joseph because the story of Joseph is the story of the Messiah, our Savior. As we read of the adversity and sufferings of Joseph and how he is elevated in his position, we are reading exactly what happened to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Joseph lived a blameless life. He was loved by his father’s love. He was separated from his father. He was sent for his lost brothers. He was placed in the pit, stripped of his robe, sold for silver, and delivered to his enemies. In his story, we read about his life in the dark land of Egypt, his bride, and his elevation to the kingship of the land. And finally, we read of the revelation of who he is to his brothers who have been saved from death through him. It’s amazing when you think about how God has illustrated His plan of salvation into the first book of the Bible through the life of a man who lived way, way before Jesus.
You're welcome and invited to come along with us on this study from the pages of Genesis on Joseph.
Who We Are:
We are a group of Christ followers who are trying to obey all that Jesus taught. Even though sometimes we mess up, we are trying to serve others like Jesus did (minus the toga). We'd love to get to know you. Please feel free make yourself at home and poke around the website, and consider yourself invited to give us a call or send us an email.
We exist to glorify God by offering hope to all people through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
As we do this, we are guided soundly by a simple way to visualize how the church works through our Sandbox. >>Read More
