Small Groups

Our Mission & Vision
“Menomonie Alliance Church exists to glorify God and to make disciples of Jesus Christ.”
We accomplish this mission by focusing on four core areas that we find the early church practicing in Acts 2:42-47.
These four core areas are summed up by the following words:
· Worship
· Equip
· Engage
· Reach
As disciples of Jesus we WORSHIP God, EQUIP one another, ENGAGE in community, and REACH the lost.
Small groups are a vital part of this discipleship process. Our hope is that by engaging in a small group this fall,
you will deepen your relationship with Christ and with others at MAC.

CROSS DISCIPLESHIP
Sundays, 8:30am - 9:30am, Room 304
Begins 9/19
Discipleship is all about building character into the hearts and lives of God’s people. Disciples then live what they have learned,  followed by taking creative steps to build the kingdom of God and defeat the kingdom of darkness. By pursuing God’s will instead of our own, we become Christ-like in character. By making disciples with the image and character of Jesus, we learn to trust God in every situation, die to ourselves, and follow the Lord with a pure heart in every situation, be it a blessing or a tragedy. Making disciples in the image of our Lord can be done using a concentration of five character-shaping goals.  This gives us the acronym of CROSS. These are: Commitment (Mark 12:30), Regeneration (Ephesians 4:22-24), Obedience (John 14:15, 6:38),  Sacrifice (Matthew 6:24-25), and Surrender John 15:15.

THE PARABLES THROUGH MIDDLE EASTERN EYES

We will explore the parables as Jesus' approach to engage his culture, providing insights not found in western understanding.  We will reference Bailey's Jesus through Middle Easter Eyes and our own experiences to explain how listeners in Jesus' time would understand the parables.  The class will discuss how to better engage our culture.  The study will be accessible to novices yet challenging for veterans of Bible study.  Members only need to read the Bible.

We will continue the second half of Judges,   starting with the birth of Sampson in chapter 13 through the conclusion of the book. This is a verse by verse study where we will not only  understand the context but also how to apply it to our lives today. We will learn how to identify sin and to become obedient to God. This is a rich book with a lot of application for deepening our walk with Christ.

WOMEN'S INDUCTIVE STUDY:
ROMANS 10

Tuesdays, 9:30am - 11:00am, Fireside Room

Jesus Christ unifies both Jew and Gentile around a righteousness that comes by faith for everyone who  believes. This eternal plan of God’s to unify the church is evident throughout the Bible and is emphasized in Romans 10. This is not a teacher-led study. Each week we will come together to share what God has revealed to us through our individual inductive study throughout the week.
