Doug Stolhand

I grew up on a small dairy farm outside of Whitehall Wisconsin amongst a family of 8. The prayer and teaching of my father and mother led me to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ at a very young age. While attending college at UW-Stout I was a student-leader in Campus Crusade for Christ and led the Worship Music Team for over 2 years. My wife Caitlin and I were married in the summer of 2009 and are excited to continue seeking the Lord's will for our lives while residing here in Menomonie.
God uses a huge variety of means to bring people to himself. For me it was a fear of monsters under my bed one night when I was a little kid. I knew that Jesus was bigger than my fear, but I also knew that I had never really decided to follow him. I waddled downstairs, prayed with my parents and began following Christ. Since then I’ve come to a deeper understanding of what grace, faith, sin and salvation are all about and God continues to teach me about these things as I keep looking to follow him. Ever since I started thinking about what I wanted to be when I grew up, I could only really see myself being a pastor, I studied Bible & Theology at Wheaton College (IL) and after a brief stint working in customer service and then at a church in the Chicago area I had the opportunity to move to Menomonie as the Student Ministry Pastor. In 2009 my role began to broaden beyond Student Ministries and then shifted completely to my current role as Associate Pastor where I have the opportunity to work closely with the pastoral team to be a part of our mission to glorify God by offering hope through Christ.
I’ve been married for more than 10 years to my wife Allison. We love to spend time together walking, reading, playing games, and baking (then eating) desserts. I’m currently working toward a M.Div. from Bethel Seminary (MN), and when I’m not studying I spend my time working on projects around the house, reading The Week, roasting coffee beans in an air popper, grilling meat, and being outside.
