Lead Pastor

The albatross and the whales they are my brothers……the journey from my roots on the west coast of southern California to the Midwest has been a great adventure that sums up my life so far. It started with my own response as a little punk to the plea of a young pastor who said, "If you don't want to go to hell raise your hand!" 40 years later, after coming to know Christ, having served for 20 years in 2 different churches, then 9 more in Short Term Missions with ReachGlobal-the international missions arm of the EFCA, God has led us "full circle" back into local church ministry here in Menomonie, WI.

A graduate of BIOLA University and Talbot Seminary my love for scripture and passion to communicate God's Word has fueled all of the ministries that we have served in. In addition to the many hats I have worn in "vocational ministry," I have been blessed to have spent a significant span of time working internationally with brothers and sisters in Christ from a wide variety of ethnic heritages. Each time I travel internationally 3 things change in my noggin; my view of scripture, my view of the church and my view of God. Not because they change, but because God changes me.
As a pastor I have 4 primary equipping roles;

    * Prayer and Bible study
    * Preaching/teaching the full council of God
    * Shepherding by developing, empowering and releasing leaders into meaningful ministry
    * Vision casting for our ministry

I love people and would love to get to know you and see if there is anything I can do to help you grow in your love relationship with Christ. Feel free to give me a call or shoot me a note if I can lend a hand.

Kyle Wiens
Pastor of Student Ministries

I grew up just outside of Rochester, Minnesota, and then attended Northwestern College in St. Paul. I completed a degree in biology at Winona State University. After college I realized God was calling me to the ministry and soon after I started working with youth. After seven years of youth ministry, I resigned to pursue further theological training. I attended Denver Seminary and obtained my Masters of Youth and Family Ministries. I am honored to serve as the Pastor of Student Ministries and desire to see students develop a closer relationship with Jesus. I am married to my high-school sweetheart, Stacy, and we have two daughters, Katarina and Annaka. In my free time I enjoy golfing, fishing, and watching and playing sports - but, most importantly cheering on the Vikings!

Wes Nehring
Director of Worship Arts

I grew up on a small dairy farm outside of Whitehall Wisconsin amongst a family of 8.  The prayer and teaching of my father and mother led me to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ at a very young age.  While attending college at UW-Stout I was a student-leader in Campus Crusade for Christ and led the Worship Music Team for over 2 years.  My wife Caitlin and I were married in the summer of 2009 and are excited to continue seeking the Lord's will for our lives while residing here in Menomonie.

Associate Pastor

God uses a huge variety of means to bring people to himself. For me it was a fear of monsters under my bed one night when I was a little kid. I knew that Jesus was bigger than my fear, but I also knew that I had never really decided to follow him. I waddled downstairs, prayed with my parents and began following Christ. Since then I’ve come to a deeper understanding of what grace, faith, sin and salvation are all about and God continues to teach me about these things as I keep looking to follow him. Ever since I started thinking about what I wanted to be when I grew up, I could only really see myself being a pastor, I studied Bible & Theology at Wheaton College (IL) and after a brief stint working in customer service and then at a church in the Chicago area I had the opportunity to move to Menomonie as the Student Ministry Pastor. In 2009 my role began to broaden beyond Student Ministries and then shifted completely to my current role as Associate Pastor where I have the opportunity to work closely with the pastoral team to be a part of our mission to glorify God by offering hope through Christ.

I’ve been married for more than 10 years to my wife Allison. We love to spend time together walking, reading, playing games, and baking (then eating) desserts. I’m currently working toward a M.Div. from Bethel Seminary (MN), and when I’m not studying I spend my time working on projects around the house, reading The Week, roasting coffee beans in an air popper, grilling meat, and being outside.
